What is Vaginoplasty |Charleston SC

What is Vaginoplasty

After experiencing a vaginal birth, many women are starting to consider vaginoplasty. Especially after multiple natural births, it is quite common to seek a solution to improve your vaginal tone. As standard as this cosmetic surgery procedure has become, you may wonder, what is vaginoplasty?

Vaginoplasty is under the umbrella for a number of genitoplasty procedures that are performed in the vagina or vulva or any of the surrounding related structures. That includes surgery carried out in the:

  • Labia Majora
  • Clitoris
  • Cervix
  • Urethra
  • Uterus
  • Bartholin’s Gland
  • Rectum
  • Labia Minora
  • Lymphatics
  • Anal Sphincter
  • Urethral Sphincter
  • Perineal Musculature
  • Nerve Tissue
  • Large Blood Vessels

Why Choose Vaginoplasty?

Childbirth is not the only cause of vaginal loosening or slacking, women have also turned to vaginoplasty as a solution to reverse the effects of aging. Surgeons believe that undergoing vaginoplasty surgery can also improve sensitivity although the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists doesn’t find this claim to be accurate.

The Truth About Vaginoplasty and Labiaplasty

Vaginoplasty and Labiaplasty have broadened into a group of various cosmetic surgeries known as “vaginal rejuvenations” or “designer vagina” surgery. In place of the scalpel, surgeons have recently started using laser technology as an alternative to traditional surgery. Here are examples of “vaginal rejuvenation.”

  1. Revirgination is when the thin tissue, known as the hymen, at the entrance of your vagina is repaired to its original state.
  2. Clitoral unhooding removes the tissue that typically covers the clitoris.
  3. G-spot amplification is when the front walls of your vagina, commonly known as the “G-spot” is injected with collagen to increase sensitivity and pleasure.

What are the risks of Vaginoplasty and Labiaplasty?

Although the risks of vaginoplasty and labiaplasty surgery have not been recorded, the risks of general cosmetic vaginal surgery include:

  • Changes in sensation
  • Scarring
  • Pain
  • Infection

Fat Grafting

With fat grafting, your own fat is taken from an area of your body using liposuction. Fat is typically taken from the inner thigh or abdomen. The fat is injected below the skin surface to fill hollow areas and creases, or plump the lips and back of the hands. Facial fillers with fat grafting are a long-lasting solution to these problems.

Manufactured Facial Fillers

Are You A Candidate For Liposuction?

Liposuction is widely known as a way to surgically remove fat, slim body contours, and improve body confidence. What is not as well known is that liposuction is typically recommended for people who are in generally good health, but have stubborn fat deposits that may be caused by genetics or heredity.

Typically, liposuction is not recommended for extremely overweight persons. Liposuction isn’t a treatment for obesity nor should it be substituted for diet and exercise.
