Chemical Peels in Charleston, SC

Chemical peels are a common non-surgical procedure that use chemicals on the skin to strip away damaged skin cells. Similar to microdermabrasion, the chemical peel technique is a very simple anti-aging procedure that can target skin texture, skin tone, and wrinkles for a refreshed, youthful look.

Our Charleston patients use chemical peels to:

  • Improve Skin Texture

  • Clear Skin Pigmentation

If you’re looking for a procedure that will tighten sagging skin or target deep scars, you may be more interested in some of our other services, such as the PicoSure laser for skin revitalization or cosmetic facial fillers.

What Is A Chemical Peel?

Our on-staff aesthetician carefully applies a chemical solution to the skin. The chemicals remove the damaged outer layers of the skin of the face, hands, or other parts of the body to improve the skin’s texture and look.

Patients typically choose one of the following intensities of their chemical peel depending on the results that they’d like to see and what type of recovery they would prefer.

  • Superficial/light peels are chosen by patients who want subtle improvements that will grow slightly over time with continued treatments
  • moderate peel will leave skin noticeably smoother immediately
  • Deep peels have in dramatic results and patients look very refreshed and smooth

Recovery is minimal, but depends on the type of chemical peel you choose. Patients can expect some level of redness, itching, flaking, and general skin irritation. A deep peel is normally the most severe and requires the longest recovery. We recommend that all patients that have had chemical peels remember to use sunscreen and further sun protection.
