Breast Lift Surgery
Many women suffer from sagging or misshapen breasts. These symptoms come with aging, pregnancy, breast feeding, gravity, heredity, and changes in weight. If you’d like to lift and improve the contours of your breasts without breast implants – a breast lift might be right for you! * As with any procedure and/or treatment the results may vary.
The breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, raises and firms the breasts. A new, improved contour is created by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding breast tissue. Breast lifts do not significantly change the shape of the breast, nor do they round the upper part of the breast. If you’re interested in enlarged breasts, read more about our breast augmentation options.
If you are concerned with enlarged areolas, a breast lift can also reduce the size of areolas.
How Is A Breast Lift Performed?
The excess breast tissue and skin will be surgically removed. The remaining skin is then tightening to raise the nipple and firm up the breast tissue. Incisions are very personalized to each patient, depending on their degree of lifting needed, as well as patient preferences and surgical recommendations.
While swelling after surgery will last about two to four weeks, breast shape may not take final form for up to thee months. It typically takes a few months for shape to fully refine, as your tissue settles. The surgical incision scars will fade and flatten through the course of a year.
