My breast reconstruction has been the silver lining to my breast cancer diagnosis! Dr. O’Neill came highly recommended by my oncology surgeon. I met with him early on in my treatment and gained an immediate comfort level with regard to the many options that were available to me. I enjoyed his kind bedside manner and knew that this would go a long way in helping me get through the lengthy process ahead. He is such a genuine person and it was apparent that my best interest was at the forefront of any procedures that would be performed.
Friends would often accompany me to my office visits with Dr. O’Neill. They, too, were so impressed with him that three of them had procedures performed by Dr. O’Neill. One friend, came to him for a breast reduction. Ironically, our procedures were performed within weeks of each other’s. Our “girl’s day out” came to be our pre-op, post-op and follow-up appointments as we would venture to Charleston from Beaufort, have a nice lunch, and then go onto see Dr. O’Neill. Seeing Joanie and Abby on a ‘regular’ basis has been like getting visit with friends, each time we come to Daniel Island. As my dear friend, who has been on this journey with me for the last 15 months, and I near the end of my reconstruction procedures, I have to say that we will truly miss our day-trips to Charleston to see our good friend, Dr. O’Neill! I end this journey with a new outlook on life and an amazing reconstruction. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results or my choice of plastic surgeon. It is the icing on the cake!
