Labiaplasty
A labiaplasty is performed to reduce the labia minora and/or to accomplish symmetry. This procedure helps to provide an aesthetically pleasing result and to help with pain that may occur during vigorous activity.
*As with any procedure and/or treatment, the results may vary
Complications
As with any surgery, there is the potential for complications. The surgery takes about an hour and a half and will require aftercare. The risks are the same as most surgical procedures, including bleeding, hematoma, infection, and scarring.
Downtime
A labiaplasty can be performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia. The downtime for the procedure is generally around 1 week but is on a case-by-case basis. In most cases, absorbable sutures are used, and if there are any external suture knots, they can be trimmed away 2 weeks after surgery. Most swelling has resided by 6 weeks, but swelling can last up to six months after the procedure.
Cost
A labiaplasty procedure will be different for everyone. Please call the office to schedule a consult. *As with any procedure and/or treatment, the results may vary.
