What to Expect
Ensure you have no makeup on when you come in for your lip filler appointment. We will numb your lips with a topical numbing cream to ensure the procedure is comfortable. The actual lip injections take 5-15 minutes. Afterwards, your lips will feel and look swollen, which is normal! The swelling subsides within 3-5 days, but it may take up to 2 weeks for everything to settle out. There is also a chance of bruising, which can be covered with lipstick as soon as the next day.

How do you make the procedure more comfortable?
We use a topical numbing cream to lessen the pain from lip injections. If you want more numbing, we can also provide dental blocks to further numb the mouth. Luckily, most of our lip fillers also have numbing in them, so the procedure gets more comfortable as we go. We also can use a vibrating distractor tool to help distract your mind during the procedure.
Can lip filler fix a gummy smile?
While lip filler does a good job of hiding a gummy smile, the best treatment is a combination of Botox and filler.
What if I have a history of cold sores?
Make sure to let us know if you have a history of cold sores, because there is a chance that lip filler can cause another cold sore outbreak. If you do have a history, we can send a prescription to your pharmacy to prevent another outbreak.
Do you dissolve previous lip filler?
If there is any issue with previous lip filler that you have, we can dissolve it and start fresh.
How long does lip filler last?
The duration of lip filler is different from person to person based on metabolism and individual characteristics. However, most of the time one syringe of lip filler should last one year.
